This resource supports facilitation of an interactive discussion with family planning clinic staff about how to implement same-visit contraception. This discussion guide is part of Same-Visit Contraception: An Implementation Guide for Family Planning Providers.

The full Training Guide consists of a PowerPoint slide deck with talking points and an associated discussion guide. Facilitators should feel free to adapt and revise this guide.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe why it is important to offer methods during the same visit initially requested by the client (i.e., same-visit).
  • Discuss the clinic’s policy regarding when clients can obtain their method of choice same-visit, and when they can not.
  • Identify strategies to increase client access to methods same-visit.

This tool is part of Same-Visit Contraception: An Implementation Guide for Family Planning Providers, which offers strategies and tools that support provision of the full range of contraceptive methods on the same day the client first requests it.
