The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, in collaboration with the Office for Civil Rights and the HHS Office of the General Counsel, developed an application to walk providers through every Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirement. This tool is not required by the HIPAA Security Rule, but is meant to help providers and professionals carry out risk assessments.
