This case study can be used to lead your agency through a process of electronic health record (EHR) purchasing and customization, using Indiana Family Health Council (IFHC) as a model. In 2011-2012, IFHC successfully implemented an EHR system for their subrecipient agencies. Its purchasing approach involved subrecipient agencies joining together and buying as a group in order to secure savings. This case study documents every step of the process from project planning through customization of the EHR templates.
