This eLearning course provides evidence-informed strategies to reduce the negative effects of bias in the provision of family planning services, and to meet Title X expectations for providing culturally competent care that respects the dignity of individuals. The RHNTC developed this interactive eLearning course in partnership with Diversity Science.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define conscious and unconscious bias.
  • Describe ways in which unconscious bias can undermine cultural competence and impact the family planning care provided to diverse client populations.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies that help to reduce the negative effects of bias in the provision of family planning services.

Note: As of February 2024, this course and the Cultural Competency and Humility in Family Planning Care: Embracing Culture eLearning together replace the previous Cultural Competency in Family Planning Care eLearning. Before you begin this course, we recommend you first complete Cultural Competency and Humility in Family Planning Care: Embracing Culture.
