Recruitment and retention of participants and families in Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) programs can be challenging, especially due to COVID-19. Through a human-centered design (HCD) approach, grantees can identify and gain insights into the root causes of the gaps in their recruitment and retention efforts and identify user-centered solutions. This webinar built from the foundational webinar, Inspiration, Ideation, and Implementation: The Power of Human-Centered Design in Teen Pregnancy Prevention, in February 2020 on HCD approaches and presented a case example for how HCD is applied in practice to recruit and retain TPP program participants. Participants were introduced to three tools (an equity framework, empathy mapping, and a persona worksheet) to support the application of HCD in practice.

Speaker(s): Priyanka Pathak, Principal, Samaj Studio

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Learn how HCD can be applied and used for recruitment and retention.
  • Understand how three tools could help TPP grantees build upon their recruitment and retention activities.

Time: 1 hour

Certificate of Completion: Yes - available after completing the evaluation at the end of the recording
