Preconception health services aim to identify and modify biomedical, behavioral, and social risks to an individual’s health or future pregnancy outcomes through prevention and management. These services help to reduce pregnancy-related adverse outcomes, such as maternal morbidity and mortality, low birth weight, preterm birth, and infant mortality. This video provides a brief overview of preconception health services and the importance of providing them as a core family planning service.
